While it is true that some men cannot handle the truth, by and large most men want people to speak truthfully. If you sugar coat your response you are doing him a major disservice. This is especially true when he spends money to gain that opinion. It is a slap in the face to a man if he takes you out to a relatively nice dinner in order to garner your honest opinion. It places him in a position where he values you more than you value him.
