I recently read an article that asked the aforementioned question. I do not remember where I saw the article or else I would link it. I find that a stupid question. Exclusive has a definition already. And a definition, by definition, is an agreed upon meaning reached by consensus.
Exclusive by definition refers to excluding others. Look it up if you question me. An exclusive relationship is one that excludes all other romantic entanglements. Lets not try to rewrite the dictionary here people.
