Contrasting Thoughts And One Of Them Should Have Been Kept To Herself

I was hanging out with some friends the other night.  There were three of us.  Two men and one woman.  We were on our way back from visiting some friends when the female of the group exclaimed her need to urinate.  We were maybe 5 minutes out from our destination, however there was a clean gas station just up ahead.  It was not on the way, however it was right off the path.  She declined.  She would hold it.

We get a few miles down the road and she wants to go some place else.  The other male and I look at each other in confusion.  She needed to use the bathroom so badly that she exclaimed it to us and now she wants to go some place else that will keep her from using the bathroom.

I was a little shocked by her exclaiming her need to urinate.  I was a little uncomfortable with the situation to being with and her statement made it awkward.  I am glad that she felt comfortable enough with me to make such a personal statement in a non-emergency case.

My thing is that she could have been a little more discreet about it if it was an emergency and could have not said anything since it was not.  We were not planning on going anywhere else, so it was not needed to veto those plans.  It was late and we were low on gas.  We just wanted to get back.
