And would you go out with a guy who is not on FB? My first thought would be: Who are you hiding from? Then: Are you the uni-bomber reincarnate? Then: If not a hermit nor a terrorist, what did you do and to whom that you cant be on FB? Then: If not a hermit, terrorist or jerk, you must be my dad’s age, no wait even my dad is on FB, you must be really old and crusty. Then: If you are not a hermit, terrorist, jerk or crusty, then there is no good reason not to be on FB so something must be seriously defective and a date of any kind is out of the question.
That was a response to a statement about how blind dates are forever changed by the presence of facebook.
I know plenty of well-rounded normal single men who are not on Facebook. They are not old, by most standards. They just were not in high school when it came into popularity. Women need to understand that while being able to learn about someone from looking them up on a social networking site is cool, Is it not cooler to know that they have better things to do in their lives than update Facebook or Twitter?
For someone who cannot go a week without being on a social networking site, dating someone who has rejected social media is not a good fit. Just because he is not a good fit for you does not make him a bad person. I seriously think that woman that I quoted above needs to take a serious "chill pill" and realize that every man in the world is not going to measure up to her standards and most likely if she is that worked up over the matter she may not make the cut for a lot of men.
