Politics, Religion, and Past Relationships
The first couple of dates should be about if there is enough chemistry between the two of you to merit another date. These 3 topics need to be addressed before the relationship nears a serious point, but definitely do not need to be aired out early. When the dates are about to hit double digits, it is time to talk taboo.
I know a woman who tries to fit those three into the conversation on a first date. She has gotten into some relationships, but they never end well or last too long.
Men who are on the fence about a woman may use them to decide if he wants to go out again. He is looking for a sign that there is good potential for a relationship or if it is never going to work out. That does not mean that he is looking for a relationship. It just means that he cannot decide.
Men interpret a woman talking about politics, religion or past relationships as pushy and looking for a commitment. If he ends it there, then he sees you as too clingy. If he calls you, then he may see you as desperate and value that. There is a chance that you may truly click. It is minimal and nearly nonexistent.
If the conversation naturally flows toward that, then you do not have a problem. Politics and religion clearly lend themselves to that situation. Past relationships never quite flow that easy into the conversation on casual dates.
