I understand this to a point. There is a rationale behind it and yet not a good one. Not a good one in the sense that it backfires. It is kind of related to this.
Women want men to like them, but if you are not yourself then you are shortchanging the man. If the relationship cannot exist with openness and honesty then the relationship is not meant to be.
