I think that this is a valid reason.
As I may have mentioned before I have a female friend who gets "unofficially" engaged at the three week mark in the relationship. That to me is just plain wrong. If you have strong enough feelings for each other after only 3 weeks then you just get married.
Most experts agree on the 30+1+1 rule which states that you should not get married before age 30 and you should know the person for a year before becoming engaged for at least a year.
Some men want to date a girl for a few years before getting engaged.
